Gai Yu - China
Gai Yu was born in Cheng Du City in 1962. He graduated from Shandong College of Art & Design and his major is Department of Graphic Arts Design. He is an Assistant of Arts Design Specialist and also a member of Si Chuan Artist Society Cartoon Researching Committee. He is specialized in widely vision graphic designing, Oil painting, and black and white graphic designing. And he is also interested in painting cartoons, ornaments, watercolors, and taking photographs. By now he had issued more than 800 cartoons works on "ChengDu Economic Newspaper", "Hua Xi City Newspaper", "Cartoon Party", "People's Daily Overseas", "Worldwide Traffic Cartoon", "The 3rd IMI International Cartoon Competition of Ukraine", "Cartoon of China" and other many well know magazines and newspapers in the world. He has began to participate international cartoon competitions since March, 2004 and his works had won many prizes such as in China LM, Belgium, Ukraine, Iran, Turkey, Brazil, Poland, Slovak and other countries in the world. And some of his cartoons had been collected by individuals either international cartoon museums in countries.
